Whether it’s game day or wing night, these 30 minute Air Fryer Honey Butter Chicken Wings are a winner! You will have the tastiest, most delicious wings in no time! Not to mention, they’re made in the air fryer which saves you time from having to watch hot oil on the stove.

Honey Butter is a game changer.

A few years ago I was OBSESSED with Maanchi’s Honey Butter Fried Chicken. The richness of the butter, the saltiness of the soy, and the sweetness of the honey…WOW! It was a life changing combination. If you haven’t tried her recipe out, I definitely recommend it.

Fast forward to today, I still love honey butter…in moderation. I thought “how could we use one of mankind’s greatest inventions, the Air Fryer, and create a finger licking wing recipe?” With some experimenting and using flavours we all know and love, Air Fryer honey butter chicken has arrived!

This is one of those recipes you’ll want to keep in your back pocket to impress friends and guests. A lot of the time, it’s a new take on a classic that keeps people coming back for more!

The secret is in the baking powder.

No flour took part in the creation of this wing recipe. The star of it all is baking powder. How does the chicken get so crispy you may ask? There’s a science behind it.  Baking powder is alkaline, which helps break down proteins which results in some deliciously crispy chicken. Impressive, right?

Though it’s not mentioned in the recipe title, there’s garlic in this recipe, AND LOTS OF IT. What is so great is that the garlic on the chicken gets beautifully crisp while the garlic in the sauce adds great flavour. You may be wondering if this is just another honey garlic wing recipe, but trust me, these wings are in a whole other league.

Making this sauce as tasty as it gets.

Cooking the sauce will make sure that you end up with a wonderfully sticky and tasty sauce. It may not look like a lot of sauce, but TRUST THE PROCESS. Continue to stir the wings around in your pan and you will quickly realize that each wing has enough sauce to get perfectly coated. Patience!

If I could choose any quick recipe that almost everyone will love, it would be this one. These are seriously some of the best wings I have ever made! Don’t believe me? Try them out for yourself. If you want to make things look a little more fancy, garnish with scallions and sesame seeds for extra flavour and a nice touch.
